I'm excited to welcome Jason Mick and his fiance Erin to our North Campus Student Ministry Staff. Jason will begin serving as the Junior High Pastor here on the North Campus team today and we could not be more excited. Jason has been on our staff at the Woodway Campus since 2006, and has done an incredible job! There is no doubt that Jason is just the man for the job and I ask that you help me in welcoming him to our team.

Beach Retreat BLOG '09
Today, our media team launched the introduction of church sponsored blogs on second.org as well as the official SBC Facebook fan page.Our first blog is the Beach Retreat 09 blog. Running into the summer...
This summer I'm excited about so many things/ running in so many different directions...thought I'd share a few of them
1. Beach Retreats - Over the 1st 2 weeks of the summer we will be taking over 1600+ High Schoolers and +1000 JHighers to the Beach. Now that much of the heavy lifting has been done and many students are signed up to go I'm simply praying for God to show up...and I know HE will. We will be hosting a blog site on http://www.second.org/ to talk about all the the Lord is doing while we are there. Are you a student, not signed up to go? Get your Registration forms on http://www.second.org/ today!
2. Amping up my Running - again. This summer I'm planning to jump in on a training program for the Houston Marathon next spring called Kingwood Fit. (Denied by the NYC marathon for year 2, ugh!) This training gig should include some early morning running and alot of challenge...can't wait! I also found last night that Nike just launched a running blog and will launch a new nike + website in June. If you love to run these sites are tons of fun!
3. On the Move - This summer my family is also on the move as we will be moving into a new house. Closing is set for July 27, and we could't be more excited. We are so ready to be settled here in Kingwood and even more ready to have a place to host others. This house should be perfect for our family; proof that God is good!

Leader Launch Night Up North
Last night we gathered our new leadership and vertran leaders together before we launch a new year of ministry to teens up here on the north campus. I just love our leaders and cannot wait to see the things that God will do through them. Leaders are our greatest asset in ministry! This next year i'm excited about...
- Shepherding our Shepherds as we build community with our leaders
- Seeing our leaders invest relationally with intention
- Watching God draw us closer together as a team
- Doing the basics well and letting God do the rest.
