Are you making HIM Famous?

For the 6 weeks leading up to Beach Retreat (HS BRX Facebook Event / JH BRX Facebook Event) we are challenging students to take a look at how FAMOUS God is in their lives and how that causes them to tell others about Him! Here are our weekly challenges were tagging to each lesson.

ONLY 23 DAYS UNTIL HS BEACH RETREAT!

WEEK1: God’s fame in your story (April 25)
Everyone lives to hear a great story! The question is what stories do YOU tell most often. Sports stories, scandal stories, ghost stories? How about the story of what God has done/is doing in your life? We see God’s fame lived out by how often we tell his story! (Mark 5)
Week’s Challenge: Tell your story sometime this week!

WEEK2: God’s fame in men’s hearts (May 2)
Our faith is very personal but it was never meant to be private…why? Because God has already set eternity on everyone else’s hearts. We are given the divine opportunity to share the greatest answer to everyone’s greatest question. We see God’s fame lived out by how we see other’s spiritual needs. (Ecc 3:11)
Week’s challenge: update your facebook pic & status for BRX & invite to the fb event

WEEK3: God’s fame in your faithfulness (May 9)
Groupies. They would do anything for their favorite band or pop celeb! Travel anywhere, wear the t-shirt, buy the EP, follow on fb and twitter. They are… faithful. God Himself calls his followers to demonstrate HIS FAME by their faithfulness. The truth is - His fame in our lives is seen in the faithfulness of our actions! (Matthew 25/ Parable of Talents)
Week’s challenge: be faithful to INVITE SOMEONE to BRX (this week)

WEEK4: God’s fame in your life (May 16)
If someone watched your life for a week what would it point to? A sport, a school, a bf /gf, a TV show? With every step of our lives we are taking a step for God or taking a step away from Him. We see God’s fame in our lives as we live them for Him. (Isaiah 26:8)
Week’s Challenge: go “Public” with BRX this week. Boldly tell your team, squad, lunchroom table!

WEEK5: God’s fame in your heart (May 23)
Famous people are famous because of what they do on the stage…right? Wrong. Every time there is something happening that’s stage-worthy it means that something consuming went on back stage beforehand. When it comes to making God famous are you trying to do it alone or are you allowing God to start where he wants to be King of all – in your heart? (Luke 6:45)
Week’s Challenge: examine this past yr since BR09…make a list of where you wanted to be vs where you are / prepare your heart for BRX!

WEEK6: God’s fame forever (May 30)
The party is coming! One day all those who have made God famous on the earth will get what they have been desiring – his fame forever! There will be an eternal celebration of the FAME of God Himself. Has your life up to this point pointed toward that party? Does your life right now point toward that party? Are you getting ready for that party that’s to come? (Rev 4:8)
Week’s Challenge: Get ready for the BRX party to come (small slice of the eternal party). Last Minute signups; don’t let others miss the party
